GesundLand 360 Degree Round Walk – 7 Nights

You make your own way to Manderscheid. Take time to stroll around and explore our little town in the heart of the Volcanic Eifel, visit the Maarmuseum or the Kerzenmanufaktur Moll (Moll candle-making workshop), or enjoy the view of the Manderscheid Castles.

You start from the Manderscheid Castles, which in the Middle Ages were the scene of a fierce struggle for power and glory. The path-like way runs down to the Burgweiher (Castle Pool) and back through the valleys of the Falbach and Lieser rivers to Manderscheid.

The trail runs through the valley of the Alf and past the Hontheimer Mill into the Ueßbach-Tal (Ueßbach Valley) to Bad Bertrich, the location of Germany’s only Glauber’s salt thermal bath and Europe’s first Therapeutic Landscape Park.

On this stage you explore the valley of the Üssbach – to Falkenley and finally around the Hergenberg as far as Lutzerath.

The trail runs past the Demerather Mill through woods and fields to Ulmen. The Ulmener Maar, at about 10,000 years old, is the youngest of the Eifel’s maars.

The trail runs along the Karolingerweg down to the wild valley of the Üssbach and through the natural world of the Volcanic Eifel as far as Daun, the viaduct at which can be seen from a long way off.

The trail runs past the Gemündener Maar and along the Lieser as far as Manderscheid. Walking through the solitude of the Liesertal (Lieser Valley) means pure nature and pure slow-down.

After breakfast your 7-Night GesundLand 360-Degree round walk ends.
