Make a short stop at different feeding points, during which the animals can also be fed. With a bit of luck in the breeding season you can also see wild boar young from the car. Some animals, donkeys, for example, move about the park freely and love to be stroked.
Anyone visiting the Daun Wildlife and Adventure Park should not miss visiting the Affenschlucht (Monkey Gorge). An 800 m-long round walk runs through the 6-hectare enclosure in which a whole troop of Barbary apes moves freely.
On the adventure playground little visitors to the park can romp around to their heart’s content. On the gigantic climbing frame built in the shape of a sailing ship little adventure-lovers feel like real pirates. Hoist the sails and off we go on an adventure! Here children can work off their energy on climbing walls and play towers. Whizz down the wavy slide with the littlest ones or take a break in the restaurant or café.
The falconry invites you to take a trip into the world of flying raptors. Majestic barn owls impress with their elegant appearance, while eagle owls and falcons with their large claws earn respect. Learn all about birds’ different flight behaviour and the particular abilities of the individual species of raptor. Watch the exciting flight demonstrations, where you can admire the trained birds in full action.
The Small-Animal Farm is a really big feature, particularly for the youngest visitors to the park. Ponies, cows and pot-bellied pigs wait for little children’s hands to stroke them and love to be offered something tasty to eat. Goats, sheep, rabbits and guinea pigs are tolerant playmates and are delighted to be visited.
Those who want action in the everyday should not miss the summer sled run in front of the Adventure Park. Slide 800 metres down into the valley and feel the Eifel wind rush past your cheeks. You can control your speed yourself – the joystick lets you choose what speed you want to go at!
