Quite a few kilometres of well-developed cycleways wind through picturesque natural settings. On you go, past the blue maars, along rushing brooks and through idyllic river meadows. Each uphill climb is rewarded with a spectacular view, and by the wayside there are also lots of things to discover.
The Maare-Mosel-Radweg numbers amongst the loveliest cycleways in the Federal Republic. Because, where once iron horses steamed and snorted, the cycleway runs along their very rail trackways. The altogether 58-kilometre-long track, which can be conveniently divided into shorter stages, runs from Daun to Bernkastel-Kues and is especially suitable for leisure cyclists and families with children. Over 77 kilometres the Vulkanrad Route Eifel links the Ahr and the Mosel rivers. It runs over the gentle hills of the Volcanic Eifel and past beautiful Eifel villages. Over 21 kilometres along the Kosmosradweg between Daun and Meerfeld the vast distances of the universe can be directly experienced and you travel from Now back to the Big Bang.
